Position Summary:

Prairie State College seeks an experienced adjunct instructor to teach Adult Basic Education/Adult Secondary math classes for Fall 2022 semester. Successful candidates will have the ability to address a variety of math concepts for adult learners.Fall Semester Session I is August 29, 2022–November 17, 2022.Day classes meet Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Night classes are Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday 6:30 pm to 9:45 pm.
Classes are offered on campus or online. Class assignments are based on enrollment, so the candidate needs to be able to teach both on campus or online, based on staffing needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Math or related fieldExperience teaching adult learnersAbility to use technology to enhance teaching and learningOnline teaching certification or credentialExcellent writing and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

M.S. in Mathematics or related fieldExperience teaching in an Adult Education programICCB Standards Proficient Training credential
