ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

Under the direction of the CAAS Director, the SEED Coordinator will be responsible for managing the SEED program, including maintaining and revising the program curriculum, providing training, coordinating and overseeing student on-campus and community employment experiences, assessing the program, recruiting students and employer-partners, and adhering to grant guidelines, as applicable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Train and supervise hourly staff, student workers, and volunteers of the program.

2. Lead recruitment of students and employer-partners for the program.

3. Oversee the operations of the program by monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of lessons and training, keeping abreast of industry best practices and the changing legal environment, and implement updates where necessary to enhance and support student success.

4. Attend training of department software programs and gain a working knowledge of them to be able to assist students.

5. Provide direct student training, mentoring, and tutoring related to the SEED curriculum.

6. Provide supplemental instruction that meets the needs of a variety of learning styles and adapt material as needed for student comprehension.

7. Coordinate and oversee student employment experiences on campus and in the community.

8. Schedule weekly individual student meetings to track student learning outcomes.

9. Work with college campus departments to provide student work experiences that will provide work-based skill development preparing students for future employment.

10. Facilitate communication with community partners to provide community work experiences.

11. Complete student assessments and program evaluations.

12. Collect and provide data for reports.

13. Provide employment training workshops.

14. Provide presentations for staff and faculty related to the SEED program.

15. Maintain knowledge of the ADA, Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, FERPA, and disabilities.

16. Adhere to grant guidelines and requirements, as applicable.

17. Attend department staff meetings and meetings with the Director.

18. Serve on institutional committees and task forces as needed.

19. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation, education, or counseling, master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Three years minimum experience working in a disabilities services environment of employment training, rehabilitation, education or counseling.

KNOWLEDGE

A working knowledge of the Rehabilitation Act, FERPA and the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act. Knowledge of various disabilities and learning styles. Bilingual preferred.
