JOB SUMMARY
Marymount University seeks a Student Financial Planner in Student Financial Services. Reporting to the Director of Student Financial Services and Bursar, the Student Financial Planner will serve as the primary point of contact for all tuition and student financial questions. The Student Financial Planner will provide excellent customer service and support, and offer student financial guidance to ensure students are on the path to a successful experience at Marymount. The Student Financial Planner will work proactively and reactively with prospective and existing students to recommend and develop financial plans mapping tuition costs throughout the student life-cycle. The Student Financial Planner will contact students via phone and email to discuss enrollment plans and ensure a comprehensive understanding of the payment options.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a thorough understanding of Marymount’s payment options, procedures, and systems to provide students with effective and accurate financial guidance
Provide comprehensive responses to student inquiries regarding all payment options which can include tuition assistance, understanding financial aid awards, and other payment options
Create financial enrollment plans based on awarded/available financial aid, payment plans, tuition benefits, employer assistance, and other sources of payment, to include the total cost to complete their program
Interact with students and families in-person, via phone, and virtually to provide comprehensive counseling regarding payment options, understanding financial aid awards, affordability, and requirements
Maintain knowledge of state and institutional policies, Federal Title IV regulations, and Marymount scholarship opportunities
Perform outreach and communicate with students directly to resolve outstanding account balances
Collaborate with colleagues in the Office of Financial Aid and Office of the Registrar to meet students’ needs
Maintain student records containing documentation of contacts, communications, and enrollment plans
Support the Bursar with time-sensitive projects and other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning or equivalent work experience in higher education administration
2-3 years of relevant professional experience in an applicable role
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous work experience in student finance, financial aid, enrollment management, high-volume call center, or customer service environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a positive manner with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
Knowledge of general business administration, best practices in higher education, and federal and state financial aid regulations
High attention-to-detail with creative problem-solving skills
