The Department of Sociology in the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor. This visiting assistant professor (VAP) will be for the 2022-2023 academic year. This VAP will work closely with the Department of Sociology and the Department of Women’s and Ethnic Studies. This position will be a sociologist and possibly have expertise in African American studies, Asian American studies, and/or Globalization studies.These VAPs should have prior teaching experience in sociology and/or ethnic and gender studies, should demonstrate strong research potential in their field, display the ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds, and value interdisciplinary and intersectional approaches to scholarship and pedagogy.The Department of Women’s and Ethnic Studies is also hiring for a VAP! - This VAP will teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels with a 3/4 teaching load including face-to-face and online courses (up to one course a semester may be offered in the online or hybrid format).
- The ability to teach a graduate level sociology course.
- Medical insurance, with the lowest cost option being $0 to the employee

- Mandatory retirement plans. Employees contribute 5% of their annual compensation. CU doubles that and contributes 10%
