The Office of Academic Affairs is seeking an Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs (AVP) is the senior liaison to undergraduate academic programs for (1) integrating experiential learning opportunities—including, but not limited to, internships, study abroad and global learning, research, leadership, service learning, and employment—and (2) improving student success outcomes broadly. The AVP is responsible for strategic leadership and management focused on improving undergraduate co-curricular educational experiences. The AVP also maintains a focus on undergraduate student success university-wide and champions access and educational equity for underserved populations. Critical to this role are partnerships among colleges, undergraduate programs, Office of Academic Affairs, and the Division of Student Affairs. The AVP oversees the Office of Undergraduate Research (URSA), the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) units (Airforce, Army, and Navy), OSU’s Office of Global Opportunities (OSU GO), and the University Innovation Alliance (UIA) fellowship. In additional, the AVP oversees university-wide initiatives related to undergraduate student success and experiential learning.

The efforts overseen by the AVP support the University’s commitment to enhance and expand opportunities for undergraduates to engage in experiential learning and its commitment to increase student success. This position is responsible for efforts on increasing student access to experiential learning activities both within and outside of the university. Creating consistency of access to these activities across the colleges, OSU campuses and locations, and student demographic groups is critical to efforts narrowing the opportunity gaps with which many first generation, low income, and underrepresented students experience.

The Office of Academic Affairs provides a welcoming and inclusive work environment, in which everyone is treated with dignity and respect and is valued for their contribution to student success at Oregon State University. The AVP is a member of the leadership team in the Office of Academic Affairs and reports to the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. Leaders in the Office of Academic Affairs are expected to operate in a collaborative manner with colleagues, perform functions with a high level of ambiguity in an ever-changing environment that requires continual flexibility, and perform all aspects of their work with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
