Director, Office of University Procurement and Business Services

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of University Procurement and Business Services, the Director of University Procurement and Business Services (Director 2) organizes, plans and directs the daily activities and operations of procurement, business services, central receiving and Mail Services; develops policies, procedures and objectives for the Office in accordance with state and federal guidelines, procurement codes and university policy; acts as the Chief Procurement Manager for the University; manages the entire Request for Proposal (RFP) process; and does related work as required. The Director will implement cost-effective policies, procedures and systems related to the procurement of goods and services needed to support educational and administrative activity. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and four years of professional experience in contract administration, business services and/or procurement operations is required. A Master’s degree; at least five years of professional experience in procurement operations in higher education; and Certified Professional Purchasing Manager (CPPM), Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is preferred.

Knowledge of New Jersey State Contracts Law and New Jersey State Public Contracts Law is beneficial. Candidate must be able to multitask and prioritize. Computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
