Job Summary
The job requires measurements of several analytes and biological markers from human samples of blood, urine, and respiratory fluids in single plex ELISA assays and also multiplex assays. The work requires protein assays (ELISA, MAGPIX, and ELLA) for a large number of plasma samples from critically ill patients. These experiments are conducted with independence, careful techniques are critical for the studies of multiple COVID-and non-COVID focused clinical trials. In addition, this job involves receiving, labelling and maintaining an inventory of the clinical samples from various studies.
The job also includes with investigators to carry out mouse studies and measure proteins and other analytes from these studies.
In addition to the scientific responsibilities, the SRA 2 will carry out preventative maintenance on all machines and tools, assures that the lab passes all routine inspections, provides aid to any member or collaborator of the Matthay lab, and is responsible for the quality and organization of data for multiple clinical trials, trains new lab members on relevant assays, is responsible for the upkeep and health of eight -80C freezers and their contents.
The administrative component requires skill in working well with fellows and investigators to order supplies for the studies from several different grants.
