Job Summary

The Student Services Assistant II, Health Sciences position assists with tasks associated with the delivery of services to students enrolled in Health Sciences Programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides students with admission and registration information
• Troubleshoots and assists students with problems or questions about web registration, MyMDCAccount management, and Internet resources for student information
• Processes dual enrollment applications, registrations, and exemptions
• Participates in training activities and workshops
• Updates academic records
• Serves on College and Campus committees
• Accurately processes related admissions and registration records related requests
• Interacts with other College departments and outside agencies in regards to assigned functions
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and three (3) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
• Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
• Knowledge of College activities and special programs, college regulations, testing, counseling and advisement services
• Possess excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and software applications
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
• Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relations with students, faculty and administration
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Handles the clerical operations of the department and assists the Chairperson in performing departmental functions
• Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
