Job Overview

The Graduate Aid Program Manager is responsible for providing technology support services and client services for graduate students on the Main Campus; and for daily systems operations and batch production scheduling, procedures, and reports that will enhance operational efficiency and administrative decision-making. They also provide client services to the increased number of both prospective and current graduate students who are seeking financial aid advising and financial support. For this non­-traditional population, they provide a great deal of hands-on and time-intensive counseling about managing their student loan debt, steps to rehabilitate previous student loans if they are currently in default, and how Georgetown awards merit and need-based aid.

The Graduate Aid Program Manager provides systems applications and support necessary for OSFS staff to administer counseling and application processing services for approximately 15,750 admission applicants and current student aid applicants each year, and to awarding roughly $210 million in aid annually for nearly 5,000 enrolled students in the form of scholarship, stipends, hourly wages, and student loans.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Graduate Aid Program Manager has a close working relationship with the Director of Graduate Financial Aid, works closely with the OSFS Counseling and Client Services staff, the Student Loan Services offices, and the graduate academic department administrators. They also interact with the Registrar's office, the Student Billing and Receivables office, University Information Services (UIS), the Graduate School and the various graduate academic departments to include students in SFS, MSB, the Graduate Medical Masters and PHO candidates, and the McCourt School, as well as those in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1 - 2 years of experience required or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools
  • Customer service experience
  • Communications skills and strong customer service orientation
  • Creative thinking, self-motivation, accuracy, organizational skills, and attention to detail


Preferred qualifications
  • Knowledge of Banner Student Information System, reporting utilities such as COGNOS for report writing, and PC operating systems
  • Knowledge of financial aid operations and higher education industry software


Work Mode: Hybrid (1 day on campus, 4 days telework). Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.
