COMPENSATION:
Initial salary placement ranges from $55,714 to $87,247, based upon education and experience. The current faculty salary schedule includes five classes and twenty steps with a maximum annual salary of $116,888. A District-paid comprehensive benefit package which includes medical, dental and vision insurances for the employee and dependents, and a $50,000 employee life insurance policy are provided. Representative Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Primary responsibility will be teaching college-level elementary and intermediate Spanish & Basic Conversational Spanish; Successful applicant will be experienced in the use of educational technologies in the teaching and learning processes. Faculty responsibilities will include, but not be limited to faculty and department meetings, office hours, committee assignments, program and curriculum development, and student activities. Participating in assessment, evaluation, and planning of Student Learning Outcomes and Program Learning Outcomes, Program Review, Curriculum Development.

Instruction may include day and evening assignments.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's in the language being taught OR Bachelor's in the language being taught AND Master's in another language or linguistics OR the equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience teaching college-level Spanish using current methods of instruction and assessment including instructional technology and software. Ability to teach all levels of Spanish including Spanish for Heritage Speakers and Spanish for diverse occupational fields (e.g., health professions, construction trades, law enforcement, hospitality industry).

Must have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Office, classroom, lab and/or on-line environment. Position requires ability to communicate and exchange information. The assignment may include day, weekend, and/or evening classes on campus and/or at off campus locations. Position requires ability and schedule flexibility to accommodate active participation in College and Department Outreach Events such as College and Career Fairs and College and Community Presentations.
