Texas State University invites applications for a program faculty position as Program Coordinator for the South Texas Doctoral Bridge Program (STDBP) and Texas State U-RISE Program, two federally funded programs at Texas State University that assist underrepresented students at both the undergraduate and master’s levels to successfully transition into biomedical doctoral programs.Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate will provide professional development sessions to students, serve as course director for a Fundamentals of Research course that trains students in responsible conduct of research, oversee and ensure timely completion of administrative matters related to the training programs, track relevant expenditures and maintain current account spreadsheets and reconciliation for program accounts, assist in recruiting new students into the programs, and track long-term the progress of those that have completed the training programs and transitioned into doctoral programs. The Program Coordinator also will assist in grant writing and submission.
All positions are subject to availability of funds.
- A Ph.D., or a M.S. degree with equivalent training and experience.
- Relevant experience or training in academic iniatives supporting underrepresented biomedical graduate students.
- Relevant teaching experience.
- Relevant grant writing experience.
