DUTIES:

A full-time Postdoctoral Scholar Research position is available within the University of South Florida College of Nursing to assist with research project development and implementation under the direction of Dr. Usha Menon. This is a 2-year position with a flexible start date and the second year dependent on year one review; July 1st, 2022 is the preferred start date.

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Scholar with a strong research background in health equity. The Scholar will work on projects related to cancer screening, diabetes self-management in minority populations, health of maritime workers, and transitional care management in homeless populations. We expect the Scholar to participate as a professional team member and contribute to ongoing research projects in the mentioned areas to contribute to existing projects while also building their own career trajectory.

The Scholar will receive career mentorship and direction of responsibilities and deliverable, there is an expectation for the Scholar to work independently with latitude on time allocation to tasks and deliverable outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Nursing, Behavioral Science, Psychology, or related social science discipline.
  • Experience with Human Subjects Research.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (English Language);
  • Background in health equity research.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in one or more of the following areas: cancer screening, diabetes self-management, maritime worker health, behavioral interventions, community engaged research, and/or implementing biobehavioral clinical trials;
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams in a health promotion/care capacity.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed.
  • Comfort with calling and speaking with a diverse array of research participants.
  • Substantial capacity for compassion and caring.
