To practice medicine in a designated specialty with reasonable skill and safety. To be a credentialed participant in the College's Faculty Practice Plan who is privileged to perform the essential functions of his/her designated specialty. To be a Medical Staff member in good standing in the hospitals or healthcare organizations where he/she is assigned to perform clinical teaching duties. Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees.
- TEACHING DUTIES: Teaching medical students and residents about in-patient and out-patient internal medicine; with the majority of effort involving supervising internal medicine residents in an in-patient setting. Position may also do precepting medical students in an ambulatory clerkship.
- CLINICAL DUTIES: Hospital general internal medicine in an in-patient setting.
- OTHER DUTIES: Professional Development and other duties as assigned, including participating in university/college committees when requested.
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Eligibility for a full, unrestricted Florida medical license is a required.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
