Subject to Grant Funding?:No Essential Job Functions:1. Assesses students’ physical and mental wellness, needs, preferences and abilities and using these to develop tailored care plans.

2. Supports the daily activities of the office, including but not limited to developing, maintaining, and monitoring CARE case management system; provides continuity of care and follow-up for students with the use of the Maxient software system.

3. Assists students with psychosocial needs such as referral to community resources, NSU Center for Student Counseling and Well-Being, while providing supportive measures for students (including coordination of medical leaves of absence).

4. Follows up on open cases to ensure that students are appropriately assessed, successfully referred, and compliant with treatment recommendations.

5. Contacts students’ legal guardians to coordinate post hospitalization academic plans by scheduling the readiness-to-return evaluation with NSU Center for Student Counseling and Well-Being along with monthly follow-up with the student and Assistant Dean.

6. Provides daytime and on-call crisis services.

7. Works closely with the CARE team (Concern, Action, Review, Engage) to support effective communication, tracking and follow up.

8. Contacts and responds to faculty, staff, and campus constituents inside and outside of the University, using judgement and discretion.

9. Responds to students and/or families seeking assistance for mental health crises as well as to inquiries from the campus community referring students for assistance.

10. Serves as a liaison and advocate for enrolled students, their families, and peers.

11. Acts and advocates for the referred student as they navigate the academic, student life, and health care landscape.

12. Coordinates responses to individuals in distress.

13. Records students’ progress including charting referrals, home visits and other notable interactions.

14. Follows up with discharged students to ensure they were satisfied with services, and they are still in good physical and mental health

15. Represents Case Management and associated programs at university functions that require training sessions, presentations, or orientation.

16. Enters, maintains, and updates case records using of student record systems.

17. Interprets university policy regarding student conduct and makes recommendations when policy changes are needed.

18. Conducts judicial conferences with students and sanction students if necessary.

19. Reports case updates to and receive case supervision from Assistant Dean and CARE Team members.

20. Collects, analyzes, and reports on data.

21. Prepares reports and summaries.

22. Creates and implements social and educational programs.

23. Contributes to the continuous improvement of case management and the Office of Student Conduct.

24. Represents the Office of Student Conduct at university wide events.

25. Completes other projects as assigned.

26. Performs other duties as required or assigned.Marginal Job Functions: Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of crisis counseling and mental health interventions.
2. Advanced knowledge of federal, state, local laws, rules, regulations, and college and university policies related to disabilities.
3. General knowledge of Student Conduct policies and procedures.
4. Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, database, Maxient, and data entry skills.

needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
1. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.

4. Travel - Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.

7. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, and computer keyboards.
Job Requirements: Required Certifications/Licensures: Required Education:Master's degreeMajor (if required):Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Counseling, Student Affairs Higher Education, or related field.Required Experience:Minimum three (3) years' experience in mental health counseling, crisis response, triage, client advocacy and case management.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in higher education or college counseling center or similar setting.
