This individual will provide technology support for classrooms, events and the Multimedia Lab.

This includes set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain multimedia equipment and systems such as data projectors, room control systems, document cameras, audio and video conferencing, Blu Ray players, speakers, audio and video recording and playback systems, amplifiers, speaker systems, digital still cameras, video cameras and accessories, microphones, mixers, monitors, lighting equipment, and stage gear.

The Multimedia Lab – support students with the creation of their media projects, primarily work with video editing and Photoshop, assist faculty with course media materials, collaborate with a student employment team, and provide support for the Electronic Media Producer.

TYPICAL WORK
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot all media equipment for in-person instruction & event support.
  • Provide technical assistance for virtual and hybrid events, AV conferencing and lecture capture.
  • Regularly use both PC and Mac workstations with Adobe Creative Cloud and Final Cut Pro X.
  • Provide assistance to walk-in students with a variety of media projects.
  • Perform maintenance tests, installation of equipment and projector lamp replacements.
  • Utilize departmental ticketing system for tracking campus issues.
  • Provide technical advice and training to assist faculty, staff, and students in effective use and operation of media equipment in classrooms, conference rooms and event spaces.
  • Maintain inventory records on materials, equipment, and parts.
  • May direct the work of student workers.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school graduation AND one year of experience as a Media Technician OR equivalent education/experience.

    DESIRED:
  • Experience in support of AV media operation OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Proficient with video and photo editing, use of Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Basic computer skills, using MS Office software, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Excellent customer service.

    CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
    Ability to demonstrate the following: properly lift/move 50 lbs., reach overhead & under equipment, walk long distances across campus, climb ladders for installation of equipment
