The Department of Psychology in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, practice-track Assistant Professor of the Practice of Psychology faculty position. The start date is negotiable but we are looking to hire someone by late summer or fall 2022. This person will serve as the Associate Director of Clinical Training (ADCT) within the Clinical Science program and teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in the Department of Psychology. We are particularly interested in hiring someone to teach doctoral students in carrying out evidence-based treatment. The ADCT coordinates off-campus clinical placements, supports students’ internship applications, organizes our professionalization series, assists in accreditation matters (record keeping and writing related reports), maintains our website, organizes the evaluation of students' work, provides clinical supervision, and assists in our recruitment and review of prospective applicants to our doctoral program.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited program including an accredited pre-doctoral internship and California licensure or eligibility.

The Department values applicants who have strong organizational skills; who have experience with teaching and providing clinical supervision; and who are comfortable with web-based platforms. The ADCT position does not incorporate a direct involvement in research but applicants must have an empirical background and a capacity to work within a clinical science model.

The Clinical Science program at USC is dedicated to the integration of science and practice and shares the USC mission of addressing critical issues of society. We offer specialty training in clinical-aging and child-family intervention and assessment. Our program is enriched by the university's location in a vibrant, culturally diverse community between downtown and South Los Angeles. The Clinical Science program is committed to enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of training.

The review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a statement describing their clinical, administrative, teaching and research experience, evidence of their scholarly interests, and the names of three referees. If possible, at least one of the referees should speak to the candidate’s teaching abilities or potential as an instructor. In order to be considered for this position, applicants are required to submit an electronic USC application; all candidates must apply via the "Apply" link at the top or bottom of this page.
