Under the general guidance of the Medical Director, general supervision of the PMR Director, and direct supervision of the Cardiac Rehab Program Coordinator, the Exercise Physiologist I is responsible and accountable for the delivery of skilled cardiac rehabilitation including: EKG-holter monitoring, individualized health education, and evidence-based exercise programming.
Minimum Education: - Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology or kinesiology/exercise science.Minimum Experience/Knowledge:- One (1) year EKG experience or 12-Lead EKG course or certification.- Knowledgeable in medical terminology.- One (1) year experience providing safe and effective evidence based exercise programming, preferably with an older adult population.Required License/Certification:- BCLS/ACLS certification required via American Heart Association. - Training certification from nationally recognized body (NSCA, ACSM) or acquired within 6 months of hire.As part of Keck Medicine of USC, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital is the only community hospital in the Foothills area of Los Angeles backed by an academic medical center.
