The Department of Physiology and Biophysics specializes in investigating molecular mechanisms underlying health and disease using Structural Biology approaches. An Electron Microscopy Technologist is sought to carry-out cryo-EM and 3D Reconstruction to determine the structure of myosin, troponin and tropomyosin on actin of cardiac and skeletal muscle thin filaments. The objective is to investigate molecular mechanisms of the regulation of contraction, and the structural underpinnings of mutations leading to skeletal muscle disease and cardiomyopathies

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience. Applicants should have experience in high-resolution EM work and facility with computer assisted-image analysis. Prior experience in expressing and purifying proteins is also important.
