Summary of Duties:
The Billing Specialist (Fiscal Specialist 1) will provide fiscal support in the computation, processing, and reconciliation of accounts and apply principles of financial management. The main responsibilities include Accounts Receivables to including Camps, Conference and Catering billing. Sending out timely invoices to customers, maintain detailed records and managing accounts receivables and aging of these accounts while maintaining cordial relationships with customers and provide excellent customer service. This also includes ISD’s for internal customers. Maintaining the departmental purchasing card preparing requisitions for PO’s and other purchasing. Provide General Ledger and accounting services, providing resource data for financial reports, performing financial analysis and special projects as assigned. This position will exercise independent judgement to solve problems and concerns, within their scope of responsibilities, when issues arise.
Required Qualifications:
Three years of fiscal record keeping experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Well organized with the ability to handle large volumes of transactions and meet monthly deadlines.
Experience with Microsoft office, spreadsheet, email and calendar products.
Experience working with a mainframe General Ledger accounting system.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and experience in effectively working with diverse or multicultural populations.

Associate Vice Provost for Inclusive Excellence Recently Announced
Dr. Lisa Guerrero was recently named associate vice provost for inclusive excellence. Guerrero has been an active advocate for diversity and inclusion since joining the WSU faculty in 2004. She is currently a professor of Comparative Ethnic Studies in WSU’s School of Languages, Cultures, and Race. She will maintain her faculty position, while serving as associate vice provost in a half-time appointment.
Dr. Guerrero will provide leadership to academic affairs in implementing WSU’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. She will help to identify and implement best practices and evidence-based approaches in faculty hiring, tenure and promotion, research support, faculty retention, teaching and mentoring, and curriculum planning. One of her first areas of responsibility will be to oversee the Racism and Social Inequality in the Americas faculty cluster hire program for Fall 2021.
