OGLETHORPE UNIVERSITY, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music to start in Fall 2022 (please note that this is a non-tenure track, limited term appointment). This new hire will be responsible for directing the University's Choral Program (which includes the University Singers and University Chorale), teaching existing courses in the Music program (music technology and/or music composition as a preferred secondary field) and contributing to the University's Core curriculum. Responsibilities will include full-time teaching (3/3 course load), engaging in regular service to the university, and maintaining an active professional practice. The service component of the position will include contributing to the development of new Music major, participating in student advising, and engaging in student recruitment activities. Furthermore, we are seeking candidates who will take advantage of the learning opportunities our Atlanta location has to offer by encouraging students to attend concerts/performances in the community (for instance, this may include organizing trips to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and/or other local ensembles).
