The College Board, a mission-driven, not for profit organization that connects students to college success and opportunity, seeks an experienced higher education enrollment leader who wants to make a significant impact on the future of the enrollment profession and on access to higher education. This leader will serve as an advocate for the needs of higher education, will bring energy, focus, and creativity to their work, and will be a key point of contact for enrollment leaders around the world.

About the Opportunity

The Executive Director, Strategic Higher Ed Enrollment Leadership, will be a dynamic and expert leader and communicator who will play a central role in shaping the Higher Education enrollment profession, admission practice, and global Higher Education use of College Board programs, tools, and resources. Your leadership will have national impact and ensure that enrollment leaders look to the College Board as their primary source of professional development, educational impact, and thought partnership. You and your team of three direct reports will lead extensive, high-level engagement with a broad range of external Higher Ed leaders and organizations in the U.S. and globally. You will collaborate closely with internal partners and leaders across the organization, including College Readiness Assessments, Communications, and Office of the President. You will lead critical initiatives and projects that call for strategic thinking and deep collaboration, and that result in solutions that improve student outcomes, and deepen enrollment leader participation in and support for key College Board programs.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide vision, leadership, and execution for a robust outreach and engagement agenda that improves enrollment leader confidence in College Board mission, programs, and student impact.

  • Design and lead key advisory groups that leverage and establish your network of strong professional reach and relationships

  • Sit on the Strategic Higher Ed leadership team and influence goals, help design metrics, and lead and participate in cross-unit opportunities

  • Provide strategic leadership and partnership with the College Readiness Assessment division to design and deliver against key program goals

  • Ensure goals, outcomes, and team performance are well-communicated and understood by key internal partners and stakeholders, and develop and implement effective processes and protocols to share insights and feedback from Higher Ed that help influence and shape program priorities

  • Lead the development of an integrated and innovative strategic Higher Ed professional leadership agenda that effectively supports core organizational priorities and measurably cultivates and delivers HE members and leaders who contribute to and champion CB programs and initiatives

  • Develop a vision and plan for strategic Higher Ed partnerships that allow the team to deliver against organizational priorities at scale and that also advance and improve our relationships with senior, new, and emerging enrollment leaders

About the Team

The Strategic Higher Ed team includes passionate, committed Higher Ed admission, enrollment, and faculty experts, as well as market and data analysts.  Our work is focused on understanding and meeting existing and emerging Higher Ed needs, and building Higher Dd acceptance of and support for key College Board programs and initiatives.

About You

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced degree (preferred)

  • Recent, relevant, and direct campus experience and leadership in undergraduate admission and enrollment, or its equivalent, including expertise in outreach and recruitment, admission process design and management

  • A passion for helping advance the enrollment profession in service of improving student educational opportunity, excellence, equity, and impact

  • A strong network of relationships in the HE admission and enrollment community, and deep knowledge of trends, tools, research, and innovation in the admission, enrollment, and success domains

  • A compelling track record of forward-thinking initiative and leadership, and well-developed organizational and prioritization skills

  • Proven ability to set vision and direction and manage and coach a remote team to meet goals and metrics as well as to communicate and collaborate effectively in an environment in which many staff work in different locations and are remote or hybrid    

  • Adept problem-solving skills, including using data to inform decisions and actions 

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including facilitating meetings and presenting remotely and in-person to small and large groups

  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence others to action

  • Once COVID travel restrictions are lifted, willingness to travel significantly

  • Strong, proven analytical skills and facility with using data to inform strategies and action (preferred)

  • Knowledge of key Higher Ed tools, including CRMs, application platforms, and analytics services (preferred)

  • Demonstrated history in advising and influencing executive level stakeholders (preferred)
