Job Summary

Provide a full range of moderate to complex support involving the use of judgement and discretion in support of the department head and faculty of Agribusiness. Day-to-day work is performed independently and is usually of moderate scope and complexity.

Budget; responsible for projecting, monitoring, advising and reconciling budget. Track spending of professional development dollars and student hours. Provide reports to department head weekly/monthly/as needed

Initiate incoming student assistant and ISA/tutor paperwork for payroll and approve time in system monthly, as well as coordinate advertising on Mustang Jobs for all student positions available

Coordinate meetings, projects and special events as needed include the Department Advisory Board Meetings, Fall Conference, Graduation, Fall Preview, Salinas Valley Fair, Open House and other events throughout the academic year

Interpret and communicate to students, parents and prospective students administrative and academic regulations, policies and procedures of department

Update the department website and its link to industry jobs and internships; maintain department social media including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube accounts.

Coordinate and create the department newsletter.

Track donations and send timely thank you letters.

Assist with student hiring for SA/ISA, and dean’s list certificates.

Act as point-of-contact for students, parents, and prospective donors.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or its equivalent. Four years of general office support or technical experience. (Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for 6 months of experience)

Salary:

Anticipated Hiring Range: $18.90 - $20.79 per hour

Classification Range: $18.90 - $29.70 per hour
