The primary purpose of this position is to intervene with students who are not progressing academically and provide coaching for these students to become successful as well as assisting students with career development. The position will work with students to identify career fields that are best suited for their skills and interests increase overall job placement for graduates.

Salary range $35,397 to $40,286 DOE in position

Essential Duties Summary:

Assist with students in identifying barriers to their educationProvide strategies for students who are experiencing barriers to their educationFocus on those students who are experiencing academic difficulty as indicated by their academic standingProvide assistance in academic advising for students with disabilities.Interpret interest inventories and career skills testing for studentsHost Career/Job Fairs in conjunction with Career Source Gulf CoastCounsel GCSC students in devising professional/career development plans in conjunction with academic advisorsHold workshops/seminars as needed for career development (e,g., resume building, interview tactics, career research)Promote careers aligned with the college’s educational offeringsParticipate in high school and other outreach opportunities with the college’s recruitment staff as necessary

Required Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university or college
