* Responsibilities The incumbent of this position with support from Senior Biomedical Engineering Technicians: Repair, calibrate, and maintain medical/dental equipment, instrumentation, and support systems used in dental healthcare delivery. Inspect, install, and perform inventory assessments and preventive maintenance of medical/dental equipment. Train dental providers, faculty, residents, students, and staff in the operation of the equipment in DCG facilities. The duties include, but are not limited to:

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in electronic technology.Preferred Qualifications Technical school training in biomedical equipment technology/related field (electronics, pneumatics, telecommunications, etc). CBET (Certification-Biomedical Equipment Technician). Experience with AU standards and regulations. Previous medical or dental experience.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

- Supports patient diagnosis and treatment by installing, testing, calibrating and repairing biomedical equipment; training users; maintaining safe operations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules, conducting tests and troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions.
- Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
- Assist with and evaluate third-party repairs.
- Provides equipment operation demonstrations, instructing other healthcare staff in use and care of equipment and answering questions.
- Installs new equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating and testing performance.
- All other related job duties as assigned.
OR

- Knowledge of technical aspects of electronic equipment and its operation
- Repair and maintenance; the application and repair of computers and how they interface with medicaVdental equipment; current regulatory requirements
- Basic anatomy and physiology as applied to use of biomedical equipment; color code conventions used In component and wiring marking.
- Ability to analyze, repair, and test electronic and mechnical equipment; perfom, preventive maintenance inspections; run diagnositc programs
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical instrumentation
- Maintain accurate records of repairs; calibration, and tests
- Skill in testing electronic equipment. Ability to maintain confidentialityDetail-orientedExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
