POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of OB/GYN at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a Instructor to join the Maternal Fetal Medicine division. This new APP will join our seven established MFM physicians who provide comprehensive maternal-fetal care. The Division's clinical scope is broad, including coverage of labor and delivery, the antepartum service, obstetrical ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis procedures, and perinatal consultation. We have an active and growing fetal therapy program that includes laser therapy and in-utero surgical procedures, as well as robust clinical programs for managing pregnancies complicated by placenta accreta and other complex medical and surgical conditions. Clinical activities are complemented by opportunities in medical education and participation in statewide perinatal quality collaborative initiatives. Most of the Division members are actively engaged in clinical/translational research or other innovative clinical programs, which match their interests. We have an ACGME accredited MFM Fellowship and robust OB/GYN residency program comprised of 24 residents. The MFM Division is actively involved in educating fellows, residents, and medical students. Our primary affiliate, Tampa General Hospital (TGH), boasts more than 6,200 deliveries annually and has an 82 bed Level IV NICU.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

CLINICAL DUTIES:

Provide general and high-risk Obstetrics and Gynecology care.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:

Close encounters timely, follow up with patient requests.

OTHER DUTIES:

Professional development and service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university.

Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.

Responsible for academic advising and related activities.

May represent the university, college/school, or department.

Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64.

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.

Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.

PREFERRED:
New graduates will be considered for employment after certification and licensure.

Candidates with experience are preferred, especially experience in full scope practice and tertiary level care (Level III birth unit and nursery). A broad range of experience with outpatient women's health, family planning, prenatal and postpartum care along with inpatient prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care is preferred.
