Position Vacancy Announcement FAMU Developmental Research School is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for a University School Instructor -Agriculture Business. Responsibilities Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated; Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and communicates objectives to students; Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students; Supervises and protects students from conditions harmful to learning and/or to the student’s mental and/or physical health and/or safety; Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities; Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required; Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policies and administrative regulations; and performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and the appropriate Florida Teacher's Certification. Preference will be given to the applicant's with one or more years of teaching experience in a K-12 setting. Recommended Competencies Strong teaching knowledge of the subject area;

Strong motivational skills;

Strong ability to work well with others;

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; and

Ability to manage a classroom.

Pay Plan This is a Faculty position.Conditions of Employment Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education.
