Position Vacancy Announcement FAMU Developmental Research School is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for a University School Instructor- Librarian. Responsibilities Instructional role includes both formal instruction in library media and technology skills as well as informal assistance to students and staff in locating and using library media materials and technology; Collaborates with teachers and staff to develop curricular content that integrates library media and technology skills; and models the effective and enthusiastic use of books, video, multimedia and other creative expressions of information and sources of pleasure and information.

Minimum Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess an appropriate Florida Teacher's Certification and a Master's Degree in Library Science or a Bachelor's Degree in Library Science with a minimum of five years of experience. Preference will be given to the applicant with one or more years of teaching experience in a K-12 setting. Recommended Competencies Strong teaching knowledge of the subject area;

Strong motivational skills;

Strong ability to work well with others;

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; and

Ability to manage a media center/classroom.

Pay Plan This is a Faculty position.Conditions of Employment Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education.
