The Center for Career Design and Development educates and inspires students to create an individualized and evolving career path focused on exploration, preparation, and professional growth. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, the Career Advisor will join a team of career development professionals that assist undergraduate and graduate students in the department of Career Design & Development for the Division of Student Affairs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assists students in making and pursuing career-related goals.
• Helps students explore, prepare, connect, and share their strengths.
• Assumes primary responsibility for building a strong cooperative relationship with students, faculty, and other colleagues across campus.
• Builds upon a culture of career readiness and student success collaboratively.
• Participates in career development-related work including career counseling, career assessment facilitation, creation and facilitation of workshops and other career readiness programs.
• Serves as a liaison to schools within the university.
• Actively supports and attends DSA and university-wide events.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Extended hours may be required on evenings, early mornings, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications:
• Master’s degree required.
• Experience and passion for working with students, families, and colleagues of diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication and human relations skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities and perform highly detailed work.
• Commitment to holistic student learning and development.
• Demonstrated flexibility, resiliency, and creativity.
• Positivity and organization in a dynamic and fast-based environment.
• Innovation to forge new ideas and strategies.
• Eagerness to be present on campus.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous university career services or recruiting experience.
• Experience working one-on-one with students and a strong understanding of student development in higher education.
• Established record of accomplishment promoting student development programs and cultivating positive relationships that lead to a comprehensive student-centered organization.
• Knowledge of the NACE Career Readiness Competencies.
