Position Summary::

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The University of Alabama invites applications for a non-tenure renewable contract faculty position. Exceptional applicants are sought that have a passion for teaching and curriculum development across the field of chemical engineering. Candidates will be considered for appointment at the rank of non-tenure renewable contract faculty, joining a department of dedicated professors (che.eng.ua.edu/people). This is a one year non-tenure track position subject to annual renewal.

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The University of Alabama invites applications for a non-tenure renewable contract position. Exceptional applicants are sought that have a passion for teaching and curriculum development across the field of chemical engineering. UA’s B.S. degree program attracts outstanding students from across the USA and internationally with an average ACT score of over 31. Seventy percent of the students majoring in chemical engineering are also members of UA’s Honors College. Primary duties of the successful candidate will include teaching in core lecture classes, unit operations laboratory and/or senior design courses, as well as appropriate service roles in the department. Candidates will be considered for appointment at the rank of non-tenure renewable contract, joining a department of dedicated professors (che.eng.ua.edu/people). This is a one year non-tenure track position subject to annual renewal.

The department benefits from the College and University’s expansion in enrollment and facilities including completion of the $300 million Shelby Engineering and Science Quadrangle in 2014 which provides nearly 1,000,000 square feet of state-of-the-art research and instructional space.Applicants must have a doctorate (Ph.D.) in chemical engineering or a closely related field. Experience in the chemical process industry or engineering design is also desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a high performance level in the classroom or laboratory, actively engage students, and take a leadership role in curricular matters.
