The Master of Communication Management (MCM) program in the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California seeks a qualified Adjunct Lecturer to supplement instruction offered by our full time faculty, specifically to teach one section of CMGT 551: Communicating Entertainment Media Identities (focusing on branding and publicity in media entertainment industries) during the Fall 2022 semester.

Candidates must have a Master or Ph.D. degree in: Communication, Public Relations, Media, Entertainment, Business, Management, or related fields, plus substantial industry experience. Work experience in major media, entertainment, content and/or technology companies such as studios, Google, Apple, Amazon, and Netflix is highly desired; experience must involve brands, audiences, engagement across global digital, social sites and platforms, as well as how they can be transformed into enterprise and social value. Teaching experience in entertainment management, marketing communication, and other fields of applied communication is highly desired.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Master in Communication, Public Relations, Media, Entertainment, Business Management or related fields.

Minimum Experience: 12 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education: Master or Ph.D. in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Management or related fields.

Preferred Experience: Teaching experience in entertainment management, marketing communication, other fields of applied communication. Demonstrated ability to coach and help students achieve their academic and professional goals. Work experience in major media, entertainment, content and/or technology companies such as studios, Google, Apple, Amazon, and Netflix is highly desired; experience must involve brands, audiences, engagement across global digital, social sites and platforms, as well as how they can be transformed into enterprise and social value. Teaching experience in entertainment management, marketing communication, and other fields of applied communication is highly desired.

USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
