- Monitors, reports, and ensures compliance of physician faculty in government and private payer incentive programs. Works closely with Department representatives to track provider funding allocations to determine effort dedicated to clinical, administrative, research, and education activities.
- Works closely with practice plan (CU-Medicine) and Department representatives to optimize physician billing practices, audit for documentation accuracy, and identify billing opportunities. Contract management through CU-Medicine’s Egnyte system or CHCO eTracts.
- Partners with Medical Directors to accomplish specialty-specific goals to quality, growth, and patient satisfaction. Represents unit and acts as liaison to the CHCO Providers, Faculty Practice Organization. Assists in leading clinical initiatives.
- Manages and approves relevant faculty expenditures
- Measures providers’ clinical productivity (wRVUs), count of clinical sessions/shifts and amount of clinical time against benchmarks, etc.
- Assists Departments and Divisions with financial management and budgeting for specialties including accounting, financial reporting, payment processing, etc.
- Ensure the appropriate fiduciary controls within the Practice, consistent with School of Medicine, CU Medicine, and University standards.
- Oversee clinical faculty practice financial reporting, analysis, forecasting and business planning.
- Develop, with Center leadership, standardized analytical and qualitative reports specific to clinical faculty practice including review of effort, productivity, and funding sources for all faculty.
- Serve as key contact for faculty recruitment initiatives/processes. Providing necessary analyses to support recruitment and retention of clinical faculty.
- Identifies and assists in the resolution of any problems which may arise between patients, support staff, physicians, and other departments. Serves as key contact, supporting clinical, operational and facility services for department(s). Provides assistance for operations including the faculty practice and ancillary teams (i.e., scheduling, admin, etc.).
- Collaborates in planning and facilitating efficient patient care services to ensure quality and customer satisfaction. Collaborates with clinical managers to identify process improvement opportunities for patient flow, clinical efficiencies, and care team optimization.
- Provides project management leadership by creating, negotiating and managing agreements, timelines, milestones, and goals and objectives for projects and programs. Keeps projects on time and on task. Engages appropriate managers and coordinators in project management process and works to achieve active buy-in from stakeholders.
- Helps to determine necessary space, equipment, supplies and support systems to ensure effective functioning of unit/department. Facilitate space planning efforts. Helps to manages master clinic schedule and clinic resource requests.
- Participate in strategic planning in concert with the organization's goals that contribute toward market growth, revenue enhancement, cost containment and maximizing clinical practice productivity.
- Provide supervision, oversight and leadership mentorship for the Department’s Colorado Springs-based professional staff member, including the development of measurable performance goals on an annual basis.
- Partners to develop business plans that support program development and growth, assesses progress of plans and prepares quarterly update presentations. Partnership spans CHCO, CU Medicine, and CUSOM leadership and local stakeholders.
- Develops, executes and provides oversight of outreach programs. Serves as the key contact for the Physicians Relations team to cultivate support from specialists to implement Primary Care Provider outreach strategies.
- Works with Southern Colorado leadership as well as Strategy, Physician Relations, Marketing, Community Relations teams to create regional strategy and promote program development
- Actively participates in the development and execution of strategic business planning regarding business and clinical operations, including practice expansion, practice model changes, etc.
- Participates in growing new referrals, assessing patient out-migration, defining targets and establishing key messages. Works closely with Hospital Foundation to identify areas of philanthropic support and potential donor opportunities.
- Supports CCS system-wide strategies and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business/public administration, healthcare administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- 2-5 years of experience in one or more of the business-related functions - clinical practice management, financial reporting, analysis, forecasting and business planning, faculty recruitment, retention, and advancement, and mission-based strategic program development.
- One year of supervisory experience
- Two years of experience working in a health care or academic medical setting with demonstrated experience in clinical faculty practice management and oversight.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
