- Assistant Chief Flight Instructor
- Counsel/advise CFIs on TCO content, requirements, and flight records.Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations (FAR Parts 61, 91, and 141).Certify student records for Part 141 graduation.Administer standardization, stage and evaluation checks and perform duties as a helicopter CFI.Coordinate and interview potential Helicopter CFIs.Coordinate with academic departments for integration of training.Provide counsel to students and instructors.Mentor new instructors and students.Assist in conducting standardization and safety seminars.Suggest changes for the improvement of any aspect to UND Flight Operations Assist in the performance of other duties as assigned by the Director of Flight Operations or Chief Flight Instructor.Conduct student review boards.Assume Chief CFI duties and responsibilities in their absence.
- Provide support and assistance to Chief Flight InstructorDevelop, monitor and maintain policies and procedures.Assist in developing and monitoring flight hour budget.Monitor student training to ensure that timelines are being met.Assist in development of contract bids.Identify, develop and coordinate marketing opportunities to promote the helicopter program.Provide helicopter subject matter expertise to the JDOSAS management team.Provide direction and motivation to helicopter staff.
- Good communication, planning, organizing, and leadership skills.Excellent communication skills and the ability to make sound decisions concerning training problems.Motivated, self-starter with the ability to perform without direct supervision.Strong innovation and creative skills.Good team building skills.
- B.S. degree in Aviation or equivalent flight experienceMinimum FAA certifications:Commercial and instrument rotorcraft certificates.Certified flight instructor and instrument instructor rotorcraft certificates.
- Experience with UND training course outlines and computer systems.Experience with UND flight record system.Meet the experience requirements of FSIMS 8900.2C for Designated Pilot Examiners:2000 hours total time,500 hours rotorcraft,100 hours in the past 12 months, & 100 hours instrument.
