We invite you to join our highly engaged faculty as an Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Marketing and Management, Specialization in International Business. To teach in our program, you must have a terminal or advanced degree in International Business, International Studies, or a related field. Since business activities have an increasingly global reach, successful business professionals must have a thorough knowledge of international business environments and be able to operate within individual foreign markets. In this role, you will teach courses that focus on cultural, economic, and legal issues, as well as, exporting, franchising, licensing, foreign direct investment, and outsourcing. Adjunct Faculty will teach in areas such as international risk analysis, international human capital development, international communication, site selection, matching markets, and products/services. The Adjunct Faculty role is critical in ensuring successful student outcomes.

Note: This part-time Adjunct Faculty position will be teaching 4-week online and/or onsite courses in San Diego.

Essential Job Duties:

    Lead classroom sessions on-site and/or online according to university policies Provide expertise in assigned content area by maintaining current knowledge in the field Respond to student needs in a timely fashion or typically within 48 hours Provide substantive feedback to students, grade assignments, and post grades Participate in online class discussion boards Emphasize student-centered learning by promoting student inquiries and encouraging participation in their own learning Maintain a positive, safe, student-centric learning environment
Required Qualifications:

    Master’s Degree in International Business, International Studies, or a related field from a regionally accredited university At least 1 year of college-level teaching experience Must reside and be eligible to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:

    A terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in International Business, International Studies, or a related field from a regionally accredited university Experience with online learning management systems

    Resume / Curriculum Vitae Unofficial Transcripts Cover Letter highly preferred If selected, candidates with international degrees may be required to submit translation/degree evaluation from one of our approved agencies.

Physical Demands/Environment:

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures and viewing a computer terminal and requires color vision and depth perception. The work is performed in an office environment and outside the office as necessary.
