Job Details
The University of Lynchburg invites applications for a full-time financial aid counselor. The financial aid counselor provides financial aid information and advising to prospective/current students and their families in a fast-paced team environment while complying with federal and state regulations as well as University policies.
The Financial Aid Counselor reports to, is supervised by, and evaluated by the Director of Financial Aid. The evaluation of work performance will be ongoing and will be carried out by the Director of Financial Aid. It will include the specific duties and responsibilities of this position description plus employee attitude and general working behavior.
Job Type: Full-Time, Benefits Eligible
Specific Job Duties:
- Counsel students and their families through the financial aid process via phone, email, video/in person meetings and presentations.

Schedule:
- 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (7.5 hours/day with some evening and weekends to meet needs of department may be required
Experience/Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively and have the ability to understand, comprehend and follow directions
Physical Demands:
- Work is primarily in an office environment.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of financial aid experience.
