Job DescriptionInstruct college students in accordance with educational theories and techniques. Develops discipline related curricula, assess student learning, participates in program evaluation, and college activities. Maintains college and department standards in support of the College's mission and strategic plan.

Work schedule varies according to teaching assignment.

Transcripts for Adjunct positions must either be an official copy or a college-stamped student copy, scanned into an electronic format and attached to the application. Specialized training and certifications in welding to include at a minimum one of the following:

  • American Welding Society Level 6G; or NCCER Level 2 Certifications; or a State or County Journeyman Welder License.
  • Four years of verifiable experience as a Welder in the field; and two years of teaching or training experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom; must be able to use the technology required for the assigned course.
  • Coursework within the degree must reflect competencies in the courses to be taught.
  • Responsible for providing instruction and performing lab related activities for a variety of processes within the welding program: including OFC, PAW, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and Pipe Welding processes.
  • Assesses students' proficiency.
  • Works with Program Director and college staff on classroom related issues to include inventory, equipment, purchase orders and daily operational tasks.
  • The percentage of time spent teaching and handling classroom administration tasks may shift slightly depending on class scheduling during the term.
