Responsibilities:

Conduct telephone interviews for the Illinois Department of Public Health Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS)study, asking scripted health-related questions and recording responses. Results are used by the IDPH to design more effective health programs based on the needs of Illinois residents. This is a flexible position that can be scheduled around classes. Shifts are M-F 2-9pm, 1-5pm, 5-9pm, and 5:30-9pm, Sat. 10am-1:30pm and 1:30-5pm, Sun. 1-4:30pm and 4:30-8pm, with additional morning shifts available from 9-1 on Mondays and Fridays. We are located in Room 140 McMurry Hall, on the main NIU campus.

Working Hours:

Varies, up to 25 hours per week including evenings and weekends.

Starting Salary:

$12.00

Minimum

Preferred Qualification:

A clear speaking voice, good communication skills, ability to work a minimum of 8 hours per week, up to a maximum of 25 hours per week, attention to detail/recording accurate data, and good attendance.

Current NIU students carrying six or more hours are not eligible for extra help employment.
