Job Summary/Basic Function:

Teach Spanish courses in the Department of Modern Languages. Ability to teach a second language and/or TESL is desirable. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to teaching residential undergraduate courses, participating in meetings, serving the School and the larger university through committee assignments, projects, etc. as assigned by the Dean, mentoring and meeting with students, and participating in all other regular responsibilities of full-time faculty. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats, knowledge of pedagogical best practices, as well as the ability to use current teaching technology (LMS, e-textbooks, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in discipline (Spanish) taught. Excellent fluency in Spanish. Commitment to teaching and knowledge of second language acquisition pedagogy. Ability to teach a second language and/or TESL is desirable. Be committed to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Spanish or related field. Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching as well as a competence in coordinating and developing courses.
