Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is seeking an Assistant Professor for Davie, FL. This position is a 9-month tenure-track faculty line. We are seeking candidates to join our community of scholars who are passionate about nursing and want to thrive in a creative and caring work environment. FAU’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing is known internationally for its dedication to Caring: expanding the science, practicing the art, studying the meaning, and living it day-to-day. We offer four-degree programs (BSN, MSN, DNP and PhD) with curricula that are unique and caring-based with opportunities for interprofessional education with medical, social work and pharmacy students.

Our research advances caring science in the areas of: healthy aging across the lifespan, holistic health, health equity, and transforming nursing practice environments.

Candidates who can contribute to research that aligns with the College of Nursing’s and FAU’s research pillars within the I-HEALTH and I-BRAIN research institutes are encouraged to apply.

To enhance interdisciplinary and collaborative research, FAU established university-wide research institutes. These research pillars are: I-HEALTH, I-BRAIN, I-SENSE & FAU Harbor Branch. These areas are dedicated to improving and addressing diseases of the brain, enhancing human health and quality of life, protecting the oceans and environment locally and globally, and using sensors to study and monitor the world around us.

The FAU Institute for Human Health and Disease Intervention (I-HEALTH, https://www.fau.edu/i-health/). I-HEALTH supports cancer, infectious diseases, and human health and dementia research, education, and community engagement programs across multiple FAU campuses and colleges. Faculty members of I-HEALTH qualify for pilot grants, research technology support, and subsidized use of the I-HEALTH Bioanalytical Core Facility. I-HEALTH faculty pursue research including therapeutic intervention strategies, development of novel diagnostics, environmental contributions to human health, and clinical trials.

The FAU Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute (I-BRAIN, https://www.fau.edu/ibrain). I-BRAIN supports neuroscience research, education and community engagement programs across multiple FAU campuses and colleges. Faculty members of I-BRAIN qualify for pilot grants, graduate student fellowships, research technology support, and subsidized use of I-BRAIN Core facilities including the FAU Cell Imaging Core and Neurobehavior Core. I-BRAIN faculty pursue research across the full spectrum of neuroscience, ranging from genetic and molecular neuroscience, cellular and circuit analysis of brain function, behavioral studies in models and man, cognitive and computational neuroscience, and disease mechanism and treatment studies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates for this tenure earning position should have a research doctorate in nursing from an accredited institution (PhD or DNS - doctor of nursing science) or a related field. Candidates should have a focused research trajectory and publication record. A Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is not applicable for this research-intensive position.

Must have a nursing license and be eligible for RN licensure in the state of Florida by time of application.
