Position Summary:

The Department of Information Technology & Operations Management (ITOM) in the College of Business at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is seeking applicants for a full time non-tenured Instructor in Information Systems (IS), Business Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence starting Fall 2022. The position duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate department Business analytics and other IS courses, program development, and assessment.

Job description and expectations: The successful candidate will teach departmental and Executive Programs’ courses, both undergraduate and graduate; assist in curriculum development; maintain research activity; participate in service activities for the department and community; possess a passion for working with the students. The instructor hired on this position will have a teaching load of 4 courses per semester. ITOM offers courses in several formats: traditional in-person lecture, lecture-capture/hybrid (mixed online), and fully on-line. Familiarity and/or interest in all three delivery methods is necessary. Emphasis will be placed on excellence in teaching, especially at the graduate and executive level.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:
Earned doctorate degree from an accredited institution by the effective date of appointment in a field related to Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, such as Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related area from an accredited institution is required.

Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.

Preferred:
Demonstrated record and commitment to excellence in teaching and working with students. The ability to teach undergraduate and graduate classes in business analytics and artificial intelligence in various teaching mode is required.

Commitment to publish in academic journals at level sufficient to earn and maintain AACSCB “Scholarly Academic” qualification.
