The Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University is seeking an outstanding Academic Internist to join the faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine. This position is intended for faculty with Internal Medicine experience in teaching, leadership, innovation, and clinical service as an Academic Internist.
The specific role will include approximately 20 weeks of inpatient coverage (with 12 weekends), as well as intermittent coverage in the resident continuity clinic during off-service weeks. The specific instructional role is flexible and will include a combination of direct teaching of residents and medical students (in the hospital, the clinic, and the simulation center), resident advising, assessment of resident performance, and other roles as determined by the developing needs of the residency program. There are opportunities for scholarship and quality improvement as well. There will be opportunities for growth in academic rank with access to mentorship from senior faculty members in the College of Medicine.

Doctoral degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of assistant professor or higher required.
A Florida medical license or eligibility for Florida licensure required.
American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or American Board of Osteopathic Internal Medicine (ABOIM) board certification in Internal Medicine required.
Significant teaching experience with residents and demonstrated teaching excellence preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of students, residents, and employees from widely diverse backgrounds is required.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Demonstrates and supports a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
