Job DescriptionResponsible for recruitment and outreach of the early childhood education workforce in Palm Beach County. Provides professional development support through career and academic advising, scholarship guidance, tutoring, and marketing initiatives and services. Focuses on increasing and improving the level of education achievement and professional recognition of the early childhood education workforce through program initiatives. This is a grant funded position. Continued employment is dependent upon grant funding.

First initial review on May 2, 2022.

Minimum Base Pay: $40,730.00. All salary calculations start at the minimum salary and will be based on candidate's education and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assesses students’ progress and guides career and academic success with outcome driven action plans. Advises toward movement along the Micro-credential pathway.

  • Recruits students and guides them through the admissions application and matriculation process.

  • Evaluates transcripts and determines course coursework applicability and equivalency towards degree completion.

  • Processes scholarship and wage supplement application and monitors process from application to disbursement. Informs students of all financial supports, awards and educational related benefits.

  • Interacts with students both within and outside the instructional, student and academic setting in a professional and ethical manner.

  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with the community to promote partnerships and collaboration.

  • Attends community events and meetings. Acts as a liaison for programs and services with internal and external agencies.

  • Coordinates and delivers academic and professional presentations to the community using technology and innovation to enhance enrollment processes and deliver services in a manner that reinforces efforts to recruit and retain students.

  • Assists in the delivery of promotional materials. Creates content for social media when requested.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counselor Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field of study

  • Two years of experience

Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar application

Skilled in:

  • Delivering a high level of customer service

  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management

Ability to:

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations and take responsibility for a high level of service

  • Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public

Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

  • Regular physical attendance required

  • Valid Florida driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Counselor Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field of study

  • Experience in appreciative advising, tutoring, and marketing

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

  • Reach and grasp objects

  • Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl

  • Stand for extended periods of time

  • Use of video display terminal

  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

  • Identify and distinguish colors and shades of color

  • Communicate information orally and in writing

  • Receive and understand information through oral and written communication

  • Proofread and check documents for accuracy

  • Operate a motor vehicle

  • Work a fluctuating work schedule
