Basic Function:

Effectively coordinate all marketing and communications on behalf of the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration with many key audiences, including students, faculty, staff, parents, employers, and alumni.

Essential Job Functions:

Marketing and Events

  • Create, edit and manage a variety of print and digital marketing materials to engage all constituents in Knowlton Center and Denison Edge initiatives, programs, workshops, and other vital activities.
  • Work closely with the Program Manager and Employer and Alumni Relations Coordinator to strategize, create and execute the marketing to drive student attendance and engagement with the Knowlton Center.
  • Partner with staff on creating and executing marketing plans and strategies for all signature programs, including but not limited to First Looks (day-long visits to local employers), Career Readiness Boot Camps, the Denison Internship Program, the Journey Program, and more.
  • Attend events as possible to take photos, gather content for social media, etc.
  • Write and edit clear, compelling copy for all marketing plan collateral and tactics. Ensure all marketing materials conform to Denison brand guidelines and culture.

Social Media Management
  • Create strategic social media plans and campaigns, and post content regularly to increase the visibility of the Knowlton Center
  • Manage and create content for all social media accounts and takeovers, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • Engage with students, alumni, and employers to grow awareness about the Knowlton Center

Website Management
  • Manage Knowlton Connect (powered by uConnect) to provide organization and development of content and resources across 7 Career Communities and 7 Identity Communities.
  • Create, regularly update and maintain all Career Planning content and materials in both print and digital formats
  • Regularly communicate and consult with Career Community leads and the Employer and Alumni Relations team.

Other
  • Manage relationships and build partnerships across the University, including with University Communication and Denison Edge
  • Perform other duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of professional experience
  • Ability to guide co-workers when necessary (e.g., content development, creation and editing of content, online reputation management)
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in writing
  • Evidence of achievement in a team culture
  • Available to work some evenings and weekends
  • Occasional travel, including some travel to downtown Columbus
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess knowledge and experience in marketing. Experience with Canva, Email Marketing platforms, Hootsuite, and video editing tools is a plus. Experience with a project management tool such as Monday, Asana, or Trello is also a plus.
  • Display in-depth knowledge and understanding of Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.) their respective users and how platforms are best deployed
