Job Description Summary

Summary:
The Wake Forest University School of Business is seeking qualified postgraduate candidates for a one academic year (July-June) Fellow position. The role will work alongside experienced Analytics professors helping to deliver courses to students in the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program. The ideal candidate will look for opportunities to add value to the MSBA program by pursuing projects that align with their academic interests and the goals of the program.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Providing timely grading and student feedback to the Professor of record for multiple classes

  • Managing inquiries and correspondence with students in relation to course content

  • Holding office hours to support students on a variety of relevant class topics

  • Delivering help sessions and tutoring support to students as needed (1-on-1 and group settings)

  • Providing classroom management support as needed

  • Other duties as assigned in support of the MSBA Program and the Center for Analytics Impact

In addition to completing the primary job functions, successful candidates will proactively look for opportunities to improve the program and overall student experience by working with faculty. Examples may include developing new interactive assignments or case studies, curating new data sets for teaching, or developing extracurricular instructional content for students.

This position offers a flexible work environment. However, there is an expectation that Fellow will be available to attend classes and meet with students on campus as dictated by their course assignments. Shared office space will be provided on campus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in a STEM related field such as business analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science or engineering

  • Experience providing direct instructional support within a university environment is strongly preferred

  • Experience applying analytical methods in business settings

  • Proficient with computer software such as Excel (advanced), R, Python, SQL, Canvas, and Tableau

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on a variety of complex, concurrent tasks while ensuring that deadlines are met

  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse stakeholders (students, faculty, and staff)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated interest in and willingness to learn the art of instruction
