Assist Agriculture program faculty and staff with Agriculture Lab/Office Duties and RecruitingPOSITION TITLE: Student Employee, Agriculture Lab/Office Assistant
STATUS: Part time
DEPARTMENT: Agriculture, Horticulture, and Veterinary Tech
DIVISION: Academic Affairs
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
MINIMIUM PAY RATE: $13.00 per hour
(Position is FWS Eligible)
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist with set up, dismantling, and organization of laboratory spaces
2. Typing, filing, organizing, and other office area functions
3. Hosting potential students for tours while they are on campus
4. Assist with the organization and implementation of departmental recruitment activities
5. Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be enrolled in 6 credits of coursework at JJC
2. Enrolled in an Agriculture degree program or have a strong agriculture career interest
3. Willingness to work flexible schedule.
4. Good oral/written communication, organization and time management skills
5. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Some experience in the agriculture industry
2. Driver’s license
3. Self-starter, able to work independently
4. Willingness to work evenings or weekends.
5. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
6. Demonstrated multicultural competence.
