Job Duties:
This exercise professional assumes responsibility for teaching all aspects of the accompanying Health and Human Performance classes assigned:
- Health and Wellness
- Fitness Concepts
- Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries
- Anatomical Kinesiology
- Intro to Exercise and Health Sciences
1. Instruct high-quality sports and activity classes to Aims Community College students and staff as scheduled.
2. Demonstrate willingness to embrace and apply the provisions of the College’s mission statement, purpose, philosophy and commitment to diversity.
3. Explain and demonstrate exercises and equipment.
4. Offer modifications for multiple skill levels.
5. Monitor and assist class participants utilizing equipment.
6. Instruct for proper equipment use and stop any unsafe actions.
7. Answers questions about the class.
8. Demonstrate strong communications skills.
9. Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
10. Prioritize the safety and well being of all class participants.
11. Properly respond to risk management issues.
12. Report and document all emergency and injury situations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a part/full-time basis.
1. Applicant must hold a post secondary educational degree (Associate or higher)
2. CPR (cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) / First Aid certification
3. AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certification
4. 6+ continuing education credits related to content, national certification, or related experience
5. Confident and knowledgeable about the course subject matter and technique.
6. Meet Aims Community College requirements for part-time faculty credentials.
7. Maintain an accredited sport or activity specific certification or license.
8. Physical effort required, including but not limited to: lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and prolonged standing and walking. A pre-employment post offer physical exam will be required of the selected candidate.
