Job Summary
We are hiring farm workers who will assist in the work of the sustainability farm.
Job Description
Students learn many aspects of sustainable living like soil remediation, backyard and production-scale gardening, hydroponics, chicken and pig husbandry
Students are trained to use, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of farm tools, equipment, and machinery
Students rotate through the various areas of the farm—they might spend one semester on chicken husbandry and then move to the banana production team while also spending some time learning hydroponics
Students are involved in developing Standard Operating Procedure documents and training videos which requires additional research
Work Environment
Work performed out doors or in uncomfortable, hazardous, or unpleasant circumstances. It's hard work that helps the campus be more sustainable.
Work schedule is fairly flexible but workers are expected to commit to a standard weekly schedule of at least 10 hours. They can work up to 19 hours but will have specific assignments for at least 10 hours per week.
