Job Summary

Under general supervision, assists with administrative and fiscal tasks; organize and coordinate office operations and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency; supervise student employees.


Hiring of student employees (stage hands and usher) Complete termination of student employees upon their departure Work with student employment Training of new hires Scheduling work schedules Organizing and preparing work assignments Supervising students while they are working Determining over hour pre authorization

Venue Operations

Establish morning opening with schedule and routines and manpower Establish evening closing with schedule and routines and manpower Establish daily schedule coverage to support/monitor events booked Establish routines for general cleaning of the stage, backstage, and systems throughout the auditorium. Determine what safety measures will need to be established with each and every event.

Lobby Box office Auditorium Orchestra Pit Main stage Backstage Rehearsal hall Piano booths Make up Locker rooms Costuming rooms Faculty office Managers office Equipment storage Piano storage Scene shop Props storage (A222) Props storage (A170) Costume storage Theater storage (upstairs) Dimmer room Electrical room Three ADA lifts

Facilities Management

Coordinate maintenance and repair issues that arise in the following areas

Exterior door operations and security Interior door operations and security Exterior and interior lighting Custodial routines and consistency Plumbing Electrical HVAC Dehumidifiers Fire sprinkler system Interior and exterior painting (and possible repair) Other work requests

AV and Media Support
Coordinate maintenance and repair issues that arise with the following equipment

  • AV lecturn
  • Rear projector
  • Events requiring projection

Security: requesting assistance for events or to investigate an incident. Reporting a faulty door. Learn how to manage a sprinkler system leak; a power outage, disengaging a HELP station alarm.

Safety: presently, coordinating covid checks. Compliance with fire extinquishers.

Project Management: coordinating and scheduling capital asset work (renovation, installation, etc).

Scheduling (Events Department/Educational Outreach): all events needs to be presented and cleared through this office. Coordination with academic classes, each semester, can be done with this office. Anything in the lobby (art shows), auditorium (academic and performance and church), rehearsal hall (upstairs), make up (academic and performance).

Theater Music Voice Piano Concert Choir University Chorale Orchestra Salsa Shaka Steel/Tahitian Ensemble Street Band

Other Academic and Administrative departments. At times they will schedule events here.

Office of the President, or Vice President Housing Human Resources Financial Aid International Students Student Leadership and Activities Counseling Services Student Clubs Other colleges and departments (Psychology, Film, Peacebuilding, etc)

Stakes and Wards (Laie Hawaii 1st and 2nd stakes, Laie Hawaii Married Stake). At times the community stakes.

Additional Job Description

Oversee auditorium personnel (hiring, terminating, scheduling, training)
Oversee facility use and maintenance
Schedule events with Educational Outreach office
Coordinate staging and technical support and timelines with event sponsors
