Job Description:

Position Summary:

Interwoven is a community mental health and training center located on the flagship campus of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in The Merchandise Mart. Interwoven provides a broad array of psychological services to the general community while also serving as a training center for psychology and counseling students and as a robust learning center for faculty and students from The Chicago School’s various academic departments. Interwoven is also home to the highly regarded Forensic Center which has long served as the practice arm of Forensic Psychology Department. The Forensic Center provides psychological evaluations, parenting capacity evaluations, family therapy, therapeutic supervised visitation/reunification therapy, co-parenting therapy, and individual therapy, among other services, to referrals from the domestic relations court. The Forensic Center is also the leading Illinois provider of outpatient fitness restoration services for persons deemed incompetent to stand trial. The Fitness Restoration Program has recently assumed a lead role in training providers across the state and is funded by a three-year, $1.3 MM grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services.

The Staff Psychologist reports to the Executive Director and serves as a lead clinician and clinical supervisor. The role encompasses membership on a team of four to six clinical supervisors who oversee the training for a cohort of six to ten practicum trainees and interns. The Staff Psychologist will supervise one trainee, covering both forensic and non-forensic treatment cases and at least a small number of assessment cases. The Staff Psychologist will also provide direct service by carrying a balanced client caseload and will conduct competency to stand trial evaluations (training will be provided, if necessary).

Interwoven and The Forensic Center provide an exciting work environment with a commitment to continuous professional development and career path opportunities. Staff are provided the opportunity to work up to two days from home. Staff enjoy the rich professional development opportunities that come with being located in the midst of a professional school of psychology.

While the preferred candidate would have demonstrated experience and skills across all aspects of the described role, consideration will be given to candidates who have broad-based experience and an interest in gaining experience in some of the more specialized services we offer.
