    Faculty member of a department that offers graduate, internship, and undergraduate programs in dietetics on the Mount Mary campus. The position includes directing the accredited Dietetic Internship program (DI), teaching graduate courses in the Dietetics Internship Program and Integrated Masters of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (IMSND), teaching some undergraduate dietetics courses, advising dietetics students, and participating in departmental and university activities.

    *This position is a 12-Month Contract. The expected start date is July 1, 2022.

    Primary Responsibilities:

      Oversee and teach dietetics internship studentsWork with department colleagues to recruit, select and place students; train preceptors; and create affiliation agreements for DI and IMSND studentsTeach across a range of course offerings in a variety of modalities (e.g., in-person, hybrid, online)
    • Use innovative teaching strategies with a diverse student body
    • Incorporate experiential learning in the classroomMentor and advise studentsComply with educational standards and administrative duties set by Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics for the DI
    • Participate in program and strategic planning
    • Participate in curriculum development and revision
    • Serve as a resource for faculty members and other program areasParticipate in department meetings, faculty assembly, and all-University committeesProvide service to the institution and the communityEngage in ongoing scholarship and professional activityPerform other duties as assigned
    Skills and Experience:

    • Ph.D. preferred, minimum of master's degree and RD/RDN/CD credentials
    • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience post-credentialing
    • Previous teaching experience in dietetics preferred
    • Previous experience with accreditation preferred
    • Strong working knowledge and understanding of established professional code of ethics and best practices
    • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills including the ability to work with diverse groups
    • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of professional and community groups

    • Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary responsibility satisfactorily. Maintain RD/RDN/CD credentials and membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
