Position Summary::

This instructor position will teach studio dance techniques to undergraduates and graduates at all levels in modern/contemporary and/or jazz or other African diasporic styles, along with one or more of the following dance studies courses: graduate research methods, dance history or aesthetics, composition and improvisation, dance anatomy/kinesiology, dance technology and digital media, and dance pedagogy. The successful candidate will participate in recruitment, mentoring and advising of students, and service to the department. Opportunities may arise for choreographing original work or re-staging masterworks on students for pre-professional company Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre and other dance productions as well as coaching student creative work for student-choreographed dance concerts.

POSITION: INSTRUCTOR, DANCE, DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE AND DANCE, 9 MONTHS

Position Description: This instructor position will teach studio dance techniques to undergraduates and graduates at all levels in modern/contemporary and/or jazz or other African diasporic styles, along with one or more of the following dance studies courses: graduate research methods, dance history or aesthetics, composition and improvisation, dance anatomy/kinesiology, dance technology, and digital media, and dance pedagogy. Evidence of teaching excellence in various styles of dance technique and dance-related academic courses. Candidates should demonstrate a clear commitment to inclusive pedagogical approaches, and a record of work using diverse and collaborative perspectives.
